friends will be there and we’re looking forward to meeting new bands
and new fans too.

THIS WEEKEND we will be at Hillside Music Festival near Guelph.
We’ll be camping and reporting and interviewing and photographing and
taking in a great line up of music

to be there, come say HI!

This week’s episode of IndieCan Radio is a special one.  Our guest,
Joey Keithley of D.O.A. is a thirty year veteran of the Punk music
movement and we cram into one hour, the following:

   * D.O.A. from the 1978 single “Disco Sucks until now.
   * Sudden Death Records, a D.I.Y. indie label for almost 30 years.
   * Sub genres, punk and politics then and now, Talk-Action=Zero
   * Bands D.O.A. has influenced like Green Day and The Red Hot Chilli
Peppers + Joey “Shitheard” Keithley’s dream concert which would
include his four favourite bands.
   * What fans can expect from his new project, THE BAND OF REBELS

We also fit in an interview from visiting UK post-punk band The
Buck Brothers and great Canadian punk including Bukkake Katholik, The
Pointed Sticks, Mongoose, Anti-Hero and Cobweb Society.

Some of you already know the story of how I interviewed D.O.A. in
the green room of The Kathedral on 07-07-07 and it was a fabulously
animated discussion of the history and state of punk music.  This
magical moment was never captured because of what we call “user error”
on my recording device.

Joey Keithley was good enough to grant me a phone interview and
Episode 48 is – in large part – that conversation.  Hey Randy (D.O.A.
Bass player) – I am sorry your great pearls of wisdom were lost, but
all the best pictures from the show are of you, so it all evens out.
And Baldini, your great word from the wise for those trying to make it
– I remembered it and included that quote in Episode 47 of THE TORONTO
INDIE SCENE.

As a bonus, you will hear the interview we did at the conclusion of
THE BUCK BROTHERS Canadian tour and you’ll hear about their world
record and the presentation of the key to the city of Toronto.

For those of you who are devoted to your rock-n-rollin’ education,
the complete conversation with Joey “Shithead” Keithley is available
on our “School of Rock” page.  It’s over twice what you’ll find on the
radio show, so if you have the time, we have the experience, stories
and wisdom.

So, please enjoy this week’s show.  I know how busy this my face
space book iPhone world we live in and it doesn’t go un-noticed on us
that you still seem to enjoy spending at least an hour of your busy
week with us.  We are so grateful and we look forward to hearing from
you soon.Keep in touch music fans.

   Joe Chisholm and Team IndieCan.
