<h1><font size="3" face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif">As we reached Episode 71
this week, I was reminded by a loyal IndieCan Fan who had been away for a few
weeks that the amount of content can be over-whelming when you try to consume it
in Mega-bite sized portions. It made me think how it must look to music fans
visiting us for the first time. We will put our heads together to create
"The IndieCan Fan Newcomers Guide." Imagine trying to consume over 70
hours of new music all at once. You could blow a transistor (oops, dating

IndieCan, pace yourself and remember that every little bit of new music you read
about, listen to or look at, your part of something special we have going on
here and we're grateful you took some time to spend with us.<br /><br />For
those who have been reading every week for a couple of years now, you know that
many of our shows were lost to us because of some back-to-back-to-back hard
drive crashes and many of you have been hunting through your libraries to find
your copies of IndieCan Radio episodes for me. We have them all except for a
clean copy of #36.<br /><br />Three that have been recently recovered and
re-posted are: <br /><br />#13 which is THE SALADS doing an acoustic set which
has as much laughing and story telling as singing in it. What a blast.
Catherine Bird of IndiePool is also in the studio talking about her career in
helping emerging artists grow.<br /><br />#7 has SHAWN SAGE in studio and is the
only show (so far) that the co-hosts, Joe and Andre, jam with the guest artist
which is a little different. Andrea Morris of AM to FM Promotions talks to us
about how songs get pitched to radio.<br /><br />#37 from Montreal, DAVE MARTELL
is live at IndieCan with an introduction of some of the music which will grace
his soon-to-be-released solo CD and is this good for the soul! After listening
in, you might want to check for dates if you're in the Montreal or Toronto areas
or bug him about getting out to where you are. Producer David Sturton talks to
us about Quebec, the distinct musical society.<br /><br />So, after a helping of

bookmarked by Ottawa bands Love Machine live at IndieCan and Ted from Donkey
Punch telling us about some new Gig-Stick technology that his band is using -
very cutting edge. In the 30 minutes remaining we cover 5 time zones with Jon
Mullane in Halifax, Pride Tiger in Vancouver, Samantha Schultz in Edmonton and
from Ontario, The Golden Dogs, Scott Cooper, Howl and Justin Rutledge, who's
playing in Quebec this week.<br /><br />IndieCan was involved in two benefit
shows last Thursday - one in Ottawa at Greenfield's and one in T.Dot at the
Elmo. Thanks to everyone who came out, the organizers and the bands that didn't
hesitate to help others in need.<br /><br />IndieCan will be at HILLSIDE Inside
the first time in 15 years of Guelph's Hillside Festival that they are putting a
winter day of music on - Wintersleep, Tokyo Police Club, The Weakerthans, City
of Colour (Dallas Green), Xavier Rudd, Cuff the Duke, Les Batinses, Attack in
Black and more. Two stages - $50 well waisted and a cultural hit that will blow
away the winter blues. It's this Saturday in Guelph. Last I heard, it's not
