Hello fellow music fans,

We are all music fans. About a week from now, United Steel Workers of
Montreal will be "Live at IndieCan" with Dave Cool hosting and team
Montreal running the show at Production DNA. I was just editing some the
rather out-of-hand USWM interview and Gern made me laugh as he signed off,
"Thanks for everything IndieCan.......... except for the $800 you cost me
in the last year from featuring great music that I just had to go buy." I
laughed out loud (not just LOL) but the truth is, if it wasn't IndieCan
that Gern got his emerging music fix from, it would be somewhere else -
there are so many good podcasts and grass-roots shows out there. But, I
know what you mean, Gern. BTW, the Montreal show is going to be fabulous.
I wish I could have been there, but it's always been my dream to have
shows happen without me. Many thanks, Team Montreal.

And speaking of being a fan of music, this week I catch up again with
54-40 and if I come across as just doing my job, don't be fooled. I could
spend a month picking the brain of a song-writer like Neil Osborne and
never tire. And what a bonus to hang with Dave Genn and Tom Hooper too.
I was in heaven, and the private living room style set of music that I am
going to share with you was just a bonus. We have some new tunes from
Northern Soul - the 12th full length CD from the band and a couple of old
radio hits too. If you or anyone you know wants to write songs that
auditoriums and/or stadiums sing back to you, this is a band to study.

This is here - this is now:

Other great artists include Lotus Child, Elliott Brood, The Craft Economy,
Left of Zero, Grand Theft Bus, Dearly Beloved and The Maynards.

Elliott Brood is looking for votes on The Buckies at CBC Radio 3 if you'd
like to support them. The Craft Economy is having a CD release party on
the 11th at Sneaky Dees. Dearly Beloved just opened for Franz Ferdenand
in Boston this week.

Two weeks left for IndieCan Wednesdays at The Annex WreckRoom before we
break for the new year. Come on out if you're in Toronto either of the
10th or 17th and say "Hello." Check out the line up at:

Keep the dialogue going - tag; you're it!

Cheers,

Joe Chisholm
