A show so remarkable you can't listen just once - ONCE JUST is Live at IndieCan

Have you ever seen a Reggae Cowboy?  Me either, but this week we
answer the question, ?What does a Calgary Reggae/Pop band sound like??
If this question nags you like it has haunted me, Episode 54 is the
show so nice, you?ll listen twice.

Calgary?s ONCE JUST was touring the country and team IndieCan
Ottawa took the Cow-town Fab-Four across the Quebec/Ontario bridge and
into the Gatineau hills to Life Is Good Sound Studio(the 12th studio
to date that IndieCan has called home) to record a few tunes and yak
with Joe and Whitebird Sound?s Douglas about writing songs and
flea-bite motel misadventures from the indie trail.

This show is definitely a keeper ? other great artists include the
Kyrie K Groove, and Tim?s Myth from Ottawa who are on the road in
Central Canada (so you might want to check them out ? I know we
will).  Aide-de-Camp from Halifax and Alexia Melnychuk from Edmonton
are artists that ?got away,? meaning IndieCan just couldn?t get things
lined up to get them in studio while they passed through town.
Aide-de-Camp is in Western Canada now and they?re passing back this
way on their way home so second chances are everything.

I love how Canada is rich with behind the scenes personalities that
have touched the lives of millions yet remain unknowns to those who
aren?t in the biz.  Michael ?A Man Called? Wrycraft makes us want to
know what?s inside.  He is a Juno Award winning graphic designer who
has contributed to almost 400 CD packages.  This kind of ?in demand?
expertise runs an artists north of $1,800 but Michael talked to us at
his favourite Queen Street café for the cost of an iced Latte.  I
could have done a month of shows just interviewing the steady flow of
music personalities that stopped by the patio to say ?hello.?  If you
don?t already know Michael you will be moved by his passion.  We talk
about how image and presentation help artists connect with fans and be
true to the musical concepts.  We will hear from Blackie and The Rodeo
Kings as the CD packages for both ?Let?s Frolic? and ?Let?s Frolic
Again? provided much fodder for our discussion.  We let Michael ?A Man
playing DJ? Wrycraft pick a song from the collection.

This is a show worth keeping and hearing often.  Come and get
Episode 54 at www.indiecan.can.com/radio.htm[1].  Come back and visit
often this week.  IndieCan will be at The Music Café for The Toronto
Film Festival, we?ll be taking in Patrick Krief at the Drake this week
and we?ll spend the weekend at the Indie Music Expo in Montreal.  So,
we?ll keep the content coming.

As always, we?re listening too, so let us know what you think and
what has caught your ear.

   Warm regards,
